What is the good news (Gospel)?
The announcement that Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of God’s promises to Abraham, and David as recorded in scripture to redeem, bless and rule the whole world. Jesus’ obedient life, death, resurrection and ascension, destroyed the power of sin and evil, and allows for our sin to be forgiven. This gospel turns aside God’s wrath and allows for the world to be redeemed, restored and reconciled to God, in Christ. The gospel is the only means of our salvation and is a gift of God’s grace. It is received through repentant faith and brings new life in the Holy Spirit. In the fullness of time, Jesus will return to complete the perfect rule of God’s kingdom on earth.
